For 1997, the Tacoma features minor mechanical refinements, and revisions and additions to the option list across the line-up. Two-wheel drive models feature a redesigned front-end styling. Changes include aerodynamic headlights and a new grille. A Value Edition Package, which includes power steering, a rear bumper, ETR radio and floor mats, is optional on 2WD models. Interior features include a fabric bench seat, full door trim with cloth inserts, dual armrests, full carpeting and headliner, dual cup holders and a driver-side foot rest. Xtracab models feature a split front bench seat, rear jump seats, rear child restraint system, fold-out table with integral cupholders, flip-out rear quarter windows and height-adjustable front headrests. The 1996 T100 is available in five models -- 2WD Regular Cab, Xtracab and SR5 Xtracab; 4WD Xtracab and SR5 Xtracab. The 1996 T100 is virtually unchanged with only minor color or trim alterations. Safety features include drivers-side air bag, side impact door beams and five mph bumpers. All T100 cargo beds are built with double-wall construction to improve durability. Cup holders, map pockets and analog instrumentation are all standard interior features. Other features include styled steel wheels, halogen headlights and a full sized spare tire. Anti-lock brakes, air conditioning and cruise control are available as options. Also available are various package options such as the Value Package, Power Package and Convenience Package. Less

Pros: Value, Dependable, great ride, 4WD is incredible.
Cons: Sound system not the greatest. Leather interior not available. Thats it.
The Bottom Line: 150,000 miles, only one small (warranty) repair. Great in snow and mud. Great looks. I would still pay purchase price for this vehicle with the 150,000 miles on it!
