I Love My Ceramic Cooktop

Pros: It gives the kitchen a sleek and clean look that gets a lot of "Ahs"
Cons: Not for the sloppy or clumsy cook!
The Bottom Line: Do your research before purchasing a ceramic cooktop so that you're aware of the pros-and-cons and possible tradeoffs that are associated with this type of appliance!

Don't buy smooth top for anything other than looks.

Review: We recently replaced our aged, old-fashioned electric ribbon type cooktop with the Frigidaire. It looks great, but it is very hard to clean. Any spill requires scrubbing with special cleanser and/or a razor blade. The elements heat up very quickly...

Review: Only 1.5 year old, the cook top element switch got burned ! The cook top was impossible to switch off as it was continuing shorting out. It was not even ON when it had happened! Likely we were in the kitchen at that time and smelled that something...
