As with all Canon's 'A' series digital cameras this one is aimed at the beginner, having said that it's far more feature rich than most entry level digital cameras with a flip-out and twist LCD monitor and a wide range of manual controls. Unlike the A60 and A70 which use the 1/2.7" type CCD (5.3 x 4.0 mm) the A80 has a 1/1.8" type CCD (7.2 x 5.3 mm) which actually gives it larger pixel size than its predecessors. Cons: Some chromatic aberration (purple fringing), red eye issues, minor image softness
The Bottom Line: The A80 balances ease of use, excellent performance, advanced features and superb usability with exceptional value to create what is arguably the best overall digital camera currently available.

Pros: Very fast, Ultra- Compact, ISO 50, 4 megapixels, ease of use
Cons: Weak flash, Redeye problems, no scene modes, off-set tripod mount

Pros: 4 MegaPixel, 3x Optical Zoom, new Print/Share button, Easy Menu System, Solid Construction
Cons: Manual Settings Limited, Weak Flash, Average Battery Life, Competition has Caught Up!
The Bottom Line: A great Point and Shoot camera that is portable and takes great shots. Anyone who needs more manual control should look elsewhere.
