Designed to support distances up to 300 meters, the DEM-421XT is a high performance 850nm Multi-Mode XFP transceiver. Supporting Full-duplex, 10Gigabit speeds on Multi-Mode fiber cables. The DEM-421XT is 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR compliant and supports Full-duplex 802.3x Flow control. The DEM-421XT provides the necessary signal amplification for data to be transmitted to the network cable from the port, and vice versa. The DEM-421XT is hot swappable. Simple Setup but can't get beyond 10mb/s

Pros: easy to configure

Cons: Too slow to even stream DVD quality video @ 11Mb/s

The Bottom Line: If 10Mb/s or less is what you wish to achieve, these do the trick. Not sure of reliability, refunded same day.

Pros: Good performance. Simple design.

Cons: Configuration process somewhat complicated. Unit failed after two weeks of use.

The Bottom Line: Based on my experience and that of others, I would recommend against purchasing this product.
