Not good with Mac

The N1 worked well for a few weeks then began dropping signal. I spent well over an hour with two levels of tech support, upgraded the firmware. He ended the conversation with the suggestion to leave security off for a day. That's probably how long he had left on that job. I have had the unit for over six months now and it only works with the security off on MacBook and Macbook Pro. If the security is on the signal drops every few minutes. Sometimes it reconnects, sometimes it doesn't. I've read may threads on the issue and tried as many fixes as I can find but none have worked. Even with security off there are occasional signal drops which interrupt streaming video, etc.
