Convenient addition to your Panasonic Phone System

I have used several of these phones for quite some time now and I read the previous review which puzzled me. The review talks about doing the research to buy a good phone before settling on this one - the problem is this is not a complete phone, just an add on handset for the phone system you already have. There is no way this can be used alone - it wasn't designed for that.

What it was designed for is absolute convenience. The convenience of being able to add another cordless phone handset anywhere in your house that you have an AC wall jack. You don't need a phone jack because this handset "talks" through your base along with all your other handsets. It does a very good job of this, too, I would like to add!

The KX-TGA600B expansion handset adds another phone to your system. For this reason, you must make sure it is compatible with your system (a Panasonic KX-TG6000 series phone) Basically, if this looks like your handset, it is probably compatible with you phone.

Sound quality is great, but like with all cordless phones, you should be prepared for a bit of interference now and then. If you don't want a little interference, stick with phones with cords (most of them, that is.)

The speaker phone is a great feature. My wife swore she would never use the speaker phone function, but now that she tried it, she uses it continuously. It's great to have your hands free and handle a phone call at the same time!

If you are buying this expansion phone, there is nothing too new that I can tell you if you already have a phone system that this is compatible with - it will act exactly like another one of the cordless handsets you already have. It will fit into your system seamlessly and all the features that you are used to will be duplicated on this handset.

What I can tell you is that it will add tremendous convenience to your home phone system by adding this phone where you need it - garage, den, home office, craft room, a teen's room, TV room, anywhere you can think of. You'll never miss a call again due to being too far from a phone! All the features like caller ID work flawlessly, just like your other handsets.

All you need to do is follow the simple programming instructions that will link this handset to your base (less than 5 minutes work including reading the instructions.) The other thing to look for is that you don't exceed the number of handsets that your base can handle (usually a total of 4 or 8 with Panasonic.) Just check your original phone system's owner's manual and it will let you know how many handsets you can add. I have 4 on my home phone and they are all great!

One other thing - this expansion handset is also available in different colors to match different bases. The "B" after the KX-TGA600 simply means "black." There is also an "S" - Silver and an "M" - Metallic Gray version. You actually can mix and match colors if you want since the internal parts are the same - only the case is a different color.

You have got to love Panasonic phones!
