Last review = RUBBISH

I sell nightvision and for a while the biggest problem was ensuring the customer wasn't expecting to own what he saw in the last action movie he went to see.

With the Stealthview you really can!

I admit that as the guy who wrote the previous review stated it will affect your own eye's low light ability as it is BLACK AND WHITE and therefore not as good as the traditional green for the purpose of flicking between using the unit and not!

However the thing about the screen being too bright is a load of nonsense! There is a brightness adjustment that can dim the screen until its barely visible or admitedly brighten it until its pure blinding white!

The only slightly disappointing thing is that is doesn't know when the IR illuminator is on. i.e it should adjust the brightness automatically when flicking that on or off.

However unless you're at the bottom of an unlit mineshaft you will mostly not need the IR illuminator. its better not to use it anyway as the battery life goes from 8 hours to just 2 with the illuminator on.

If you are looking for nightvision you'd be mad to overlook this Bushnell Stealthview, at under £300 to believe you could find something better is simply not true! Sure if you have a spare £2500 - £3000 go for a Gen2 or a Gen3 but I promise you its not 10X better but is that much more expensive.

It is tripod adaptable.

PROS: Performance against cost is like nothing seen before! Best resolution under £300! Immediately adaptable to your TV/video recorder (supplied with all but one cheap lead)


CONS: Fairly narrow illuminator - as previously stated it is a spot in the middle. But hey you can improve that with a large torch and IR filter! Do you really want a large torch with a NV attached?? most likely not; for its size the illuminator is still pretty damn good!
