A beautiful picture. If it works

I purchased this product via Newegg almost 5 months ago and It worked beautifully untill.... My 204B developed a line of dead pixels across the screen about two thirds of the way up. Needless to say, this was unacceptable. I contacted Samsung tech support and arranged an RMA. They will ship to a nearby UPS store and I could exchange the product there. Unfortunately, more then 3 months had passed since my original purchase so I would be receiving a refurbished model in exchange, rather then a new 204B. Not ideal, but better then nothing.
After 2 weeks the UPS store called me and I immediately ran over with my old monitor and exchanged it. Alas, when I got it home and hooked up to my computer the "new" monitor exhibited extreme numbers of pixels flashing on and off, and after a few seconds began to flicker and flash before dying completely. Not Approved.
Upon contacting the UPS store, they informed me that their agreement with Samsung did not permit me to swap back to my old (functional) monitor. I have contacted Samsung tech support and arranged another RMA but meanwhile I am left with a $350 paperweight and no monitor until the next one arrives.
I have serious issues with Samsung's quality control. An investment of my dollars entails a product that works, at least for the term of it's warranty (in this case, 3 years) Shipping a refurbished unit that had obviously not been tested is simply shoddy and not good business. Despite the nice picture I cannot recommend this product.

An update. I have received my 3rd monitor and it works fine. The picture is beautiful as the original monitor I had. Therefore I am upgrading my review from 1 star to 3 stars. But I still do not recommend the Samsung 204B
