Author's Review
I'm pretty picky about my keyboards and have gone through quite a few. However, I've had this keyboard for a few years now and keep coming back to it.
For me, it's got the right feel. The comfort is perfect. That being said, it certainly didn't feel that way at first.
While I was getting used to the keyboard, it felt awkward. I was not used to the "split keyboard" design, and the fact that both sides are elevated towards the center certainly made it all that more strange and new.
Once I got used to this keyboard, I found it far more comfortable than traditional keyboards. I do a lot of programming and a lot of writing, which means I use a keyboard virtually all day, everday. Over roughly two years, the keys have not worn off, the feet have not broken off, and I still enjoy using this keyboard over any others.
The "shortcut keys" could be considered minimal compared to some of the newer keyboards. I typically get the most use out of the volume controls. One touch +/- volume or mute. The play/pause button worked with Winamp and Windows Media Player out of the box, but obviously won't work with some services, such as Pandora Internet Radio.
The calculator key inparticular really bugs me - if you hit this key with a calculator open already, it opens another, instead of closing the current!
There is also a "zoom scroll key" right in the middle of the keyboard that I have never used.
All that being said, it's the best keyboard I've ever used. I've had it for roughly two years and use it on a daily basis for work (programming and writing) and play (surfing the web and gaming). I'd recommend this above any others.
