3.0 out of 5 stars Zephyr 36" Tamburo Stainless Steel Range Hood, February 26, 2008

Very contemporary looking! Had it installed last month (January 2008) and yes, we do love the look. However there are some design flaws that Zephyr needs to address. Small 5" duct is just not big enough for a 400CFM motor. Even though I run it at full speed, it is not powerful enough for my Indian cooking. There are 3 speed settings, but the 1st setting does nothing at all. The slide controls do not feel solid (a rocker-style switch would have been better). Also, the light bulbs and exhaust reaches only the back burners effectively. If I use the two front burners (which most of us do), then the exhaust is not as effective. One week after installation the halogen bulbs stopped working. After 3 phone calls to Zephyr, still waiting for someone to come out and repair.
Would I buy a Zephyr hood again? Probably not. Given the price we paid ($670), I would have expected better design features, and definitely better after-sales service.
