Author's Review
Scotch VS Bourbon. It is akin to a PC VS a Mac. It all depends on one's taste, and, dare I say it, one's outlook on life.
I quite enjoy both kinds of spirits, but I tend to enjoy the company of Bourbon drinkers more. Perhaps it has to do with my perception that the "experts" of Scotch have become a bit like their wine counterpartsÂ…too predisposed toward deconstructing the elements of the product to the detriment of their enjoyment of it!
Yes, we can have Bourbon snobs, I guess, but it just seems somewhat contrary to Bourbon's history. Sit for a while and take a sip.
Wild Turkey's Rare Breed is perhaps the best tasting, smoothest Bourbon I've ever tasted (even at 104 proof). The color and taste is like molasses and doesn't taste smoky at all.
I normally drink Jack Daniel's and Gentleman Jack, but for special occasions, Rare Breed is the one for me.
Many people might be put off by the name "Wild Turkey", which conjures up images of a moonshine operation. Do not be mistaken, Wild Turkey is the benchmark for all Bourbon.
