fair for the price

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Better off spending the extra money for a valentine now then after the ticket you will get using the whistler
Review: I bought this radar detector a year ago for a trip I was making from LA to Berkley. I bought it from Caplink for $128 plus shipping (I needed it asap). On the trip it did pick up most of the cops that I saw, but in most of the cases I had to see...

Impressive Mid-Entry Detector

Date of Review:  Oct 11, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a radar detector that is easy to use, detects well and is not over $200 this is the detector for you.
Review: I purchased a Pro 73 two months ago. It has been many years since I had a radar detector...going back to the basic micro-eye brand that only picked up X-band. Radar detectors have come a long way since then. I did extensive research on detectors...

"Look Out Big Boy's..."

Date of Review:  Jun 22, 2005
The Bottom Line: I have tried many detectors, and found some problem with most that was irritating to the point of wishing I had not purchased. Not so w/73..
Review:

I have purchased several Radar Detectors over the years, and I can truthfully say. The Whistler Pro 73 is a fine detector, and I have no complaints about it's reliability .

The blue readout display can be seen even on bright...

Best for the Money $150 range, but an additional $50-150 gains a nice edge.

Date of Review:  Mar 30, 2005
The Bottom Line: There is a high level of quality and technology in the worlds best "gold medal" detectors. The Whistler Pro 73 is a nice shiny "silver medal". Go for the Gold!
Review: I am swapping out my Whistler Pro 73 for an Escort 8500. It's not a bad unit. It is everything that it claims to be, and it is everything the tests show it to be, but it falses significantly more than a used Escort 8500 that I purchased on Ebay for...

Nice Detector For The $$$

Date of Review:  Aug 25, 2005
Review: I had a really difficult time thinking about coughing up $300+ for the RX65 or Escort 8500 so I opted for the Whistler Pro 73 after reading favorable reviews online. I use it everyday and so far have been pleased with the performance. Probably the...

Consider the Whistler Pro 73. It's is a good detector for the money

Date of Review:  Mar 3, 2005
Review: *POP TM mode detection--radar and laser detector --gets the job done--total band protection--effective bands--x, k, Ka, laser
*stylish--bright blue text display
*fewer false signals (of any detector I've ever owned) probably due to 3 city...

Pro 73, very nice detector for 150under category

Date of Review:  Aug 14, 2005
Review: This thing performs very well.

Pro's - alerts me when a cop is near, and gives fair warning as well. 1+ miles no problem. City modes are nice to decrease false alerts. City 2 (no X band are detected).

Cons- Hard to read in direct...

Review: I love this unit. I felt it was loaded with all the state of the art features of top models but at an affordable price. The blue light is wonderful but I agree that in sunlight it is a little hard to see but I do keep it on DIM. I live in a...

Very Satisfied!!!

Date of Review:  May 11, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you want to buy in at the $100-$200 and want the best features you can get for the money, buy this detector. I have not been disappointed.
Review: I did the usual internet research, read the reviews, the spec's. I knew I needed the Bel Pro Rx65 or the Escort 8500 X50, but they're just too pricey. The Whistler Pro 73 seemed to nudge close enough to all the spec's on the higher priced units so I...
