Just enough blender

Date of Review: Jun 18, 2006

I have had this blender for 6 months. It is a beautiful piece that would adorn my counter top permanently if I could spare the room. It has three speeds and pulse (do you really need a dozen speeds on a blender?). It pulses at hi speed (24,000 rpm). It has 1/2 hp which is more than adequate for home use. You can make a Margarita without a little ball of un-crushed ice at the bottom. The only potential weak link is the drive mechanism. Like most blenders, the final drive is a hard rubber interface between the motor and the glass jug. In extreme use, this would likely fail over time. I would have gladly paid 2 or 3 dollars more for the cost of a metal unit. More heavy duty models will have all steel construction in the final drive and 2-4 times the horsepower. It may not qualify as an heirloom, but it is just enough blender.
