A woman's opinion of a MAN's razor!

When my parents came to me asking for ideas of what to buy my husband for Christmas this last year one of the things I suggested was a new electric razor. I never thought that after they bought him one I would be this impressed by it!

To understand the reasons I am so thrilled by the Wahl 5000 Custom Shave System I must first explain a little about my dear husband. He is in the military and shaves EVERYDAY, by the time he gets home from work his beard is so rough that I find myself shying away from kisses. Bless his heart I love the man to death but the whisker burn was about to kill MY skin. He had tried all types of electric razors, some better than others as well as regular razors and shaving cream, but nothing seemed to fit the bill. You see while he does require a good close shave he also has areas of sensitive skin, he wanted a pop up trimmer, and something that was cordless for when he is in the field. The one electric razor (which shall remain nameless) that he found that did better than most had replacement blades that cost almost as much as a new razor!

Then came the Wahl 5000 Custom Shave System, it has it all!

First of all it has three different foils. Close, Superclose, and Sensative, so you get customize your shave to fit your skin and shaving needs. According to my husband the foils are very easy to change.

The Wahl 5000 has a pop up trimmer, so he was thrilled with that. Great for trimming the sideburns, or the back of the hair between trips to the barber shop. Keep in mind he keeps his hair extremely short so he is able to do this, would not recommend trying it for those of you who do not.

This Shave System can be used corded or cordless. While being used cordless it holds a charge for days, another great thing for in the field since outlets are scarce out there.

The replacement foils are reasonably priced. According to the parts catalog that was enclosed with the Wahl 5000 they are about 1/3 of the price he was paying for replacements.

But was a wife it is not all the features I have listed or the attractive storage pouch that impressed me. It is the fact that I can once again get close to the man I love without fearing the dreaded whisker burn.
