The Bottom Line: Fun driving and quality wrapped into a car I adore!
Review: After having massive troubles with my Plymouth Neon (see http://www.epinions.com/auto-review-3D29-E50E87F-3900AF15-prod6 )I decided I HAD to get a new car. I wasn't particularly interested in anything at the time so I asked my dad for suggestions...

1.8T is a blast, quality control and the seats aren't

Date of Review:  Nov 20, 2000
Review: This little car is a blast! It feels rich and very "German". Having just returned from a 3 day road trip across California, I can finally tell you my feelings for this little car with confidence.

My girlfriend purchased this car to replace...

German quality at a Japanese price.

Date of Review:  May 16, 2001
The Bottom Line: A great balance between German quality, performance, affordability, family and economy.
Review: I bought my 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg about a week ago, and absolutely love it. The look, feel and performance are equal (and in some cases greater) than more expensive German manufacturers; like BMW and Audi.

The Bottom Line: Excellent for someone who doesnt like the beetle, yet wants a safe fun vehicle
Review: Going through 2 vw beetles, and still having my life and my health I decided to stay in the vw family when looking for a new car. I went to the same vw dealership I bought my last 2 beetles from and found a beautiful deep blue 2001 volkswagen jetta...

Love... until it breaks

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this as a safe and reliable car. However I would caution those with limited budgets for repairs.
Review: Thinking of buying a used Jetta?
I bought my Jetta in August of '05 with 78k miles on it.
It's a black 1.8T, standard transmission. The price was right, about $8,300 and it tested very well. Love at first drive.
After reading various...

Date of Review:  Oct 26, 2000
Review: The current success of VW has been built primarily on the appeal of the Jetta.

Over the years I have owned many Volkswagen products and for 5+ years I owned a small repair/sales business that earned a good portion of its income from loyal...

Perfect Mix of Family & Fun: 2001 Jetta GLX

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2000

Spend the extra $2000, get the GLX

Date of Review:  Jun 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: The GLX was built with the driver in mind, comfort, handling, adaptability to environment, power. This car rocks.
Review: I traded in my 97 Jetta GL, which was bittersweet. I was still enjoying the car, but found myself desiring a car that handled better, had more power, and few more extras like leather and power everything. I found what I was looking for at my local...

When things are good, it is a dream car,,,

Date of Review:  Mar 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: No. There are other stylish cars out there that are far more dependable.
Review: However, that dream can turn into an expensive nightmare. I bought my Jetta brand new in 2001. The car just recently hit the 100,000 mile mark. My title of this piece says it all. When everything is in good working order, this is a phenomenal car...

Date of Review:  Sep 4, 2001
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone.
Review: My VW Jetta GLS was the first car that I bought. I shopped for months and finally decided on the Jetta. My reasons were, the safety features, the stereo, the gas mileage, the price, and most of all, the look. The Salesman at the dealership drove me...
