Doesn't quite make the bite...
Pros:
Very pretty. Good Source engine use. Interesting plot and characters. End combat fun. Multiple endings.
Cons:
Long load times, very high hardware demand, frustrating combat system. Useless abilities.
The Bottom Line:
If you liked the first one, get it. Read a FAQ so you know where to put EXP for a much better experience. Don't play a Nosferatu the first time.

Author's Review
Yeah. Well. It's a Vampire game. What do you want?
Pros: Done with the Source Engine. If you have a decently speedy computer, you will get to see some nice facial effects, realistic physics and well, unlike Half-Life 2, VTM is pretty fond of the female form. That's okay. I'm fond of it myself, so no argument there. And this game is probably one of the first where someone can say "Wow, she's stacked." and have it mean something. Seduction is a useful way to find various women to feed from, though even more amusing is the report that while as a male you can seduce a couple of women, apparently as a female character, you can seduce the world. (Methinks the designers need to get out a bit more.)
Played through as a Gangrel, which I thought would be fun.
Cons: Well, a couple of problems. First, you can only use the three Disciplines native to your clan. (Suck) And like a lot a WW things, these are only really nice at 5 dots. That takes a lot of exp. (50 for each to get to 5 dots) Did I mention that 2 out of the three for Gangrel (Animalism and Protean) suck anyway. I mean, the war form is cool and all, but it's slow as hell. I thought it would be fun specifically since the last game forced you into being a Brujah. Well, I probably should have gone that route. Celerity and Potence would have been useful. I think a Malk or Toreador would have some serious issues (neither being bricks by any stretch) finishing certain combats. Nosferatu characters have it the worst, they don't even have Mask of a Thousand Faces so they have to go everywhere via the sewers. Don't think a Nos character would be fun at all. Combat is fun at the end and quite satisfying. It is unfortunate that it takes until the end to get decent weapons. The katana and the .50 cal semi-auto pistol kick butt with the pistol having a very satisfying .50 cal boom. The other major issue with the game is that some things seem important but you really shouldn't spend you (very) limited exp on them.
Recommended with the caveat of read a FAQ prior to playing to find out what to spend exp on and what clans will work for you.
