Very good overall

The Bottom Line: Great sound when used correctly. If you only listen to classic rock, then these are not for you. If you listen to anything else, these sound great for the price.
When people say that their is not much of anything else but bass with these headphones, I can offer 3 suggestions: 1) Don't shove them in too deep, 2) Check the bitrates of your music, if they are 128kbps then what do you expect?, and 3) have your ears checked for hearing loss (trebles and mids are the first to go...being exposed to loud music for too long can make you lose those freqs. In my opinion, these sound great when compared to any of the Sony IE headphone, than those uncomfortable Apple headphones that come with the IPOD (or any MP3 player for that matter), and a hell of a lot better than the BOSE IE phones that cost more than twice as much. Bass is of course excellent, and the mids and trebles are just right. I work in a studio environment all the time, and listen to lots of different genres of music. Although these don't sound as good as studio monitors, or as good as THX certified speakers... these are good enough. Don't pay more than you did for your MP3 player on the headphones. MP3 does not produce the "superior" sound that the master recordings offer... so getting the ultra "superior" headphones is just a waste of money.
