Author's Review
Billy Currington is another young sexy Nashville country boy who has succeeded to land on #1 in the country charts. Billy made that happen with his sugary way sexy hit Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right. His next single from this album, which is his second, is named Why, Why, Why it peeked at #13 in the country charts.
Billy Currington made a jump to the stardom singing duet with Shania Twain in her big hit "Party For Two". He has been posing on a cover of a Playgirl and belongs to the younger country scene who does not wear cowboy hats or ride horses, my husband always gets him mixed up with Dierks Bentley and I can see why, they both have curly brown hair, puppydog eyes and soft voices.
This album was released 2005 and I am hoping that Billy Currington will get busy in the studio soon again, he does not have the strongest or sexiest voice in the country today, but I like his attitude and playful style and yes, he is not so bad to look at after all...

The songs on this album:
I Wanna Be A Hillbilly 3:06
What can I say, the title tells the story. Somehow I can't see him drinking corn whiskey or even being hillbilly.Decent vocals but song is so boring I forgot it before it even ended.
Good Directions 3:35
This single is out on the charts while I am writing this. It is song with a storyline to listen and some nice notes. Will it made it to the top of the charts? I think no. I wonder why I have not seen a video as of yet?
Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right 4:29
He plays that sexy young hunk role with flying colors. Slow, unhurried and when you close your eyes and see him barechested on the beach with water rising over his body you are hooked. Ohh baby.. Is this the best vocal or the song ever? Maybe not but it has a pleasant melody and feel. He did something right anyway!
Why, Why, Why 2:45
I like the lyrics and this is the kind of song that fits him perfectly. The beat sticks to your head and band behind him is good. Very uncomplicated and straight forward. Todays country meets pop and succeeds.
That Changes Everything 3:49
More George Straight style pure country with a storyline to follow, I like his soft voice here and it is not "powerful staff" but good basic country tune and I've always liked simple songs. It is a B for me.
Little Bit Lonely 3:46
I don't like the way he uses his voice here. He is trying to be more twangy than he is. And the song is totally boring and something you've heard million times. Billy does not bring any new pointers about babies that are little bit lonely. Naaaaah. Shania does this much better!
She's Got A Way With Me 4:46
What I like about this album is that the band never swallows the spotlight, Billys voice stays in front. Even in here with a slow ballad about a girl that has the spell over him. I just wish his voice would be just a little raspier to make this sexy. I could still do this one as a last dance.. Drags a little too long.
Lucille 4:08
He does justice to Kenny Rogers here! Billy Currington grew up listening Kenny Rogers. He does not sound anything like Kenny but I like his singing here, I bet he has been singing this track for a while! Hidden gem in this album, I'm waltzing around my kitchen, that is a good thing!
Whole Lot More 2:31
Another tune you've heard thousand times. More uptempo and band is let loose a bit here but this one just is not worth listening to me. Filler.
Here I Am 3:41
Much nicer. Dancing melody and homey lyrics. Slow and convincing and this would be a good "Would you marry me" song. Works quite well. I'm liking the vibe!
She Knows What To Do With A Saturday 3:38
I never get my moms recepies right so this one makes me smile! The line dancing beat and laughing and party feel, all well mixed together. I would not end an album with this song, it is not that good but very easy to listen in between some other party type songs.

Nothing in this album sounds unpleasant to my country girl heart. There is few so-so takes but some very promising tracks too. Billy does a very good vocal on Lucille and he does not disappoint me in any other songs. If it would be up to me I'd move That Changes Everything to be a last track on the album, this way it just ends too suddenly.
