The reason U2 is one of the most successful bands of all time is quite apparent in this film. They are passionate about what they stand for, and what they do. They are masters of exciting an audience, to getting an audience to stand for the same things that they do.
Then they met, U2 formed with no talent. They had no prior skill or knowledge in music, they came from obscurity.
You can clearly feel in this video the energy U2 omits in its live shows. Rattle and Hum follows U2 during their triumphant Joshua Tree tour. It was not really loved by critics, because they thought U2 was trying to put themselves on the same level as the Beatles. They werent, they are completely different from the Beatles, just because you make a music movie doesnt mean its unoriginal.
The DVD is useful in that, it presents the movie with the sound it deserves, beautiful surround for my beloved U2.
U2's performances in this video of With or Without you, as well as Where the Streets have no name rank up with their most Passionate. U2 is a strongly romantic band. They are driven by passion and love for their home country, something no popular band of recent years has come close to. It wasnt just about the money for U2 and that can be seen in this video. They are as humble as they are brilliant.
