An impressive SUV!

The Bottom Line: If you want/need a bigger car, but need it to be powerful, rugged, and dependable too (especially in places with extreme weather), the 2008 Toyota Sequoia can't be beat.
I have always been a fan of Toyota and so far, they have not let me down. In the past, I have preferred the Toyota 4-Runner (between my husband and I, we have owned 3). But as our family grew, so did the need for a bigger car.
Although we wanted a Toyota Sequoia, we had heard some bad things about it being "gutless", especially in the high-altitude Colorado mountains where we spend a LOT of time. So we did some research and discovered that the redesigned 2008 models had a more powerful engine, among other things. We were sold.
I consider myself a pretty low-maintenance person and I didn't want/need a lot of bells and whistles for my car. In fact, if I could have just taken my simple 1998 Toyota 4-Runner SR5 and made it a little bigger, I'd have been happy. However, we did end up buying a Sequoia Limited because it had things we cared about (like larger 20-in wheels for off-roading and a roof rack for our Thule carrier) that the SR5 didn't. Of course, that also gave some other things we didn't really care about (like the upgraded JBL stereo and heated seats) but are now glad to have.
We've had our new 2008 Toyota Sequoia for about 2 months now and absolutely LOVE it!
