Splinter Cell - Takes "tactical espionage" to new extremes

Date of Review:  Jan 23, 2003
The Bottom Line: Great game, I think everyone who owns an Xbox should at LEAST rent Splinter Cell.
Review: Ever since Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation was released, most people considered it the greatest stealth game ever. I can't really take part in saying that because I've only played a 3 minute demo of MGS. Then Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty...

Splinter Cell - Shatters Box

Date of Review:  Nov 18, 2002
The Bottom Line: flawless victory
Review: I have to admit, Ubi Soft has won me over as a fanboy ever since the creation of the Rainbow Six series. Being a fan of Tom Clancy as well as quality FPS titles; the two fit hand-in-hand. When I thought the genre just couldn't get any better, Ghost...

Splinter Cell is ExCellent

Date of Review:  May 18, 2004
The Bottom Line: My title rocks and so does Splinter Cell. Now just waiting for Eps to add the X-Box version of Pandora Tomorrow
Review: In Splinter Cell (SC), you assume the role of Sam Fisher. He works for this top-secret agency that combats terrorism around the world and here in the states. Anyway, there's some funny business going on in Eastern Europe, Georgia to be exact. Seems...

Secret Agent Man, Whacking Baddies When He Can

Date of Review:  Mar 13, 2003
The Bottom Line: Sam Fisher might not be as cool as Solid Snake, he is much cooler than the tool of tools, Raiden.
Review: No question, in this day and age, it's very difficult to create a brand new game franchise, given the large amount of sequels that flood the market year after year. Somehow, however, the Xbox has managed to deliver 2 all-new franchises that have...

Tom Clancy Goes Stealth Style

Date of Review:  Dec 26, 2002
The Bottom Line: Splinter Cell is a stealth-based game, with exceptionally impressive graphics, and a tough AI, and adequately good sound, all wrapped up in one nice little package
Review: Splinter Cell is like a mix between Metal Gear Solid and the movie The Professional. You play as Sam Fisher, a soldier and an elite member of a group called Third Echelon. Your mission is to uncover the secrets behind the shady political dealings in...

The epitome of what a stealth game should be

Date of Review:  Feb 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: An amazing game that redefines what a stealth game should look, feel, and play like.
Review: I'm going to cut right to the chase on this game.. I have to say that this game has displaced Metal Gear Solid 2 and has taken the throne for a stealthy title. Here's what I thought of the game:

Graphics-The XBox truly shines here. This...

Love it or hate it. I hate it.

Date of Review:  Dec 6, 2002
The Bottom Line: Can't recommend it. Too boring, too many flaws and too pre-programmed. Frustrating and dull is not a good combination for a video game.
Review: I know Splinter is receiving rave reviews and has been highly anticipated, but unfortunately, I was persuaded into pre-ordering by all the hype. I should have known better.

And to get this out of the way - no - I'm not a PS/2 fanboy or...

Hardcore stealth, strangely unintuitive linear gameplay

Date of Review:  Feb 18, 2003
The Bottom Line: Good true stealth game, with linear level design that isn't always intuitive why you must go that path, insufficient save points
Review: Judging from all the hype, I had thought that a console-first game had finally reached a new level of sophistication. It sort of does, and sort of doesn't. Splinter Cell is a good game, and deep into the world of stealth games where hiding and no...

Splinter Cell: Graphically Sublime

Date of Review:  Aug 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: Pick it up asap if you haven?t already, and get some practice in for the Xbox Live-enabled sequel due sometime next year.
Review: Its 2003 and as the USA's domestic security continues to be threatened by international terrorism the National Security Agency (NSA) has seen fit to introduce a new wave of intelligence gathering under the banner 'Third Echelon'. Combining...
