Author's Review
Could you imagine being adopted at the age of nine and then 25 years later, wondering if your entire adopted life had been one big lie and web of deceit.
That's exactly what happened to a character named Melanie Stokes in the book, THE OTHER DAUGHTER, by Lisa Gardner.
Twenty five years after being adopted Melanie Stokes is approached by a reporter from her family's past,Larry Digger, only to be told that she knows nothing about the people in her family and that they have all deceived her for years. She can't help but wonder if her whole life has been a lie. Can she trust a stranger? Maybe her father, Dr. Harper Stokes, is not so perfect after all.
At the same time she's uncovering her past, she's falling in love with another person,David Reese, who is also deceiving her. Her perfect little life and world is crumbling...who can she turn to?..who can she trust? Two big lies will will finally collide into one big truth.
This is a great book with a great author. I'm not familiar with Lisa Gardner's other books but I really like her style.
She goes from one character in the book to another so that the reader knows what's going on with each character simultaneously. That's a great style as it makes it easier to follow.
You'll really enjoy reading this book. I couldn't put it down.
I'm very anxious to find other books written by this great author.
