What a beautiful book!. . .

I work at a bookstore, and so I run into books all the time. This is one of those I really love. I would completely give it to anyone grieving the loss of someone they love (I was actually contemplating keeping a few around at home for that kind of thing)

It's written by Warren Hanson (he also wrote the childrens' "Peef" books and illustrated "A cup of Christmas tea" -just as an aside : ) ), and is done like a children's book. (the format and such) But I think it's just as much for adults as it would be for a child. (it would easily fit in either case; maybe that's what's so great about it- for everyone)

It is an absolutely beautiful book, and almost made me cry while I was sitting at the information desk where I work (it was on display in front of me so I was flipping through it : ) ). THe pictures are just gorgeous. . .
There aren't a lot of words on a page (like a typical children's book), but they fit perfectly with the illustrations.

The other thing I like about it is that it deals with death in a general way , yet still really touched my heart (it is not geared toward any particular religion or belief system). It's extremely uplifting and just such a joy to read. In a way, you could really read it anytime, to anyone.
I'm not really able to be too specific here without having it here to quote; it's one of those books you kind of have to see. But I was impressed. . . . .


(Another book I recommend by the same author is "older love" , written in the same format. Another really touching book )
