Marilyn Manson sets the world on fire with his first and only Live album. This album follows shortly after the Mechanical Animals album. The track list is amazing and you really get a sense of how phenomenal Manson is live.
The track list is as follows:
Inauguration Of The Mechanical Christ
The Reflecting God
Great Big White World
Get Your Gunn
Sweet Dreams(Hell Outro)
Rock Is Dead
The Dope Show
Lunchbox
I Don't Like The Drugs But The Drugs Like Me
Antichrist Superstar
Beautiful People
Irresponsible Hate Anthem
The Last Day On Earth
Astonishing Panorama Of The End Times
Inauguration Of The Mechanical Christ-This is a good buildup to the music and gets the mood set. If you have ever been to a Manson concert, then you can truly understand the buildup that is there right before he erupts onto the stage.
The Reflecting God-My favorite Manson song of all-time. This is a fabulous first song and just blows you back a few steps. The only criticism is that Manson changes the chorus and simplifies it which I find a bit annoying, but is still amazing.
Great Big White World-A new song off of the Mechanical Animals album. The guitar work by John5 is very eerie and Manson screams over the beat intensely. Pogo also does an amazing job on this song with his loops and melodies.
Get Your Gunn-One of Manson's most infamous and controversial songs. Disturbing lyrics and fierce drums make this song convey live and you can just see the mass of people slamming into each other.
Sweet Dreams(Hell Outro)-One of Manson's most famous works of art. This song plays amazing in a live setting. He uses the crowd clapping and singing the chorus to grab the entire mob of people and the listener into the palm of his hand. The hell outro is also a fantastic instrumental that makes you feel like you are being bombarded from all directions.
Rock Is Dead-The second track on this live album taken from Mechanical Animals. Has elements of disco and rock that blend very well into Manson's image at the time. Makes you really want to yell along with him as he yells Rock is deader than dead....
The Dope Show-The third track on the album that is from Mechanical Animals. This song is guarunteed to upset all of the parents around the world with his talks of getting you high.
Lunchbox-Off of Manson's first album, this song is amazing live as he directly relates to all of the kids who were picked on throughout school.
I Don't Like The Drugs But The Drugs Like Me-This song kicks off with Manson telling of a fictious story about drugs, god, and the police. This is a rant that is sure to upset all of the parents and religious groups. The song is quite good and unique. It has a very funky groove to it.
Antichrist Superstar-This is a great song. Manson gets the entire crowd into it as they chant along in the opening. The listener can just picture Manson high up on his podium waving and posing as a dictator as he rips up the Bible.
Beautiful People-Manson's most famous song. Also a great song that makes the crowd and listener go insane. Nothing else needs to be said.
Irresponsible Hate Anthem-This is a brutal and fantastic song that is perfect for a live concert setting. Manson's voice portrays amazingly on this track.
The Last Day On Earth-This song just blew me away. It is completely different from every other song on this album. The acoustic guitar conveys wonderfully over the crowd and Manson really shows his sensitive side as well. The album is worth buying just for this song.
Astonishing Panorama Of The End TimesThe final song on the album. It is not on any other album of his so that is quite interesting. Good song with a great beat to it. Fitting way to end the album on a heavy note.
This album makes me want to drive into my car and go down to the local arena and listen to Manson as I bang my head and sing along with every single song.
