Author's Review
We had a set of the infant Take And Toss spoons, and they were great. We also had some Munchkin spoons, and those were great too.
But we recently ran into a problem. Our daughter is now thirteen months old. While she mostly eats table food, she has been known to indulge in a jar or two. It was taking forever to feed her because the infant spoons are so small. So we decided to try using a bigger spoon.
We picked up a set of the Take and Toss toddler flatware. It comes with ten fork/spoon sets. The sets are brightly colored, and the handles are slightly wavy- giving them a very cool look. Technically, the fork is more of a spork, so you dont have to worry about your toddler poking himself/herself or any accidental stabbings.
While my baby is quite adept at feeding herself using her hands, she is still getting the hang of using utensils. The spoon handle is easy for her to grab, and I have certainly seen improvement since we started offering her a utensil with her meal. When we feed her jarred food, the process is much smoother because we can give her more food than we could with the smaller infant spoons.
I recently hosted a toddler (two and half years old) for the day, and we had macaroni and cheese for lunch. I also gave her a spork, and it was very easy for her to use. Her spork fell on the floor, and when I offered her another one, she declined and said that she wanted a green one. Ha!
I have put these utensils in the dishwasher- I put them right in the utensil basket and I have not had a problem with them flying out and melting. The set is also inexpensive- I think we paid about $3.xx for the set of ten spoons and ten forks/sporks. At prices like that, there is no need to be concerned if you lose a fork at the park or if you leave a spoon at a restaurant.
I highly recommend these Take and Toss toddler utensils. I have to admit that I liked the Munchkin infant spoons slightly more than the Take and Toss infant spoons, but I am thrilled with these toddler utensils. My baby is getting more adept at using a spoon thanks to these spoons, and their wide bowl makes it possible to get more food into my babys mouth at once- and that makes her a happy camper. These spoons are great!
