Author's Review
I am pregnant with our third baby, and our second baby just turned one. I just went out two weeks ago and bought this amazing product to help me through those sleepless nights. My sister had one, and she loved it so much, and I just gave in and splurged on this product.
My daughter just turned one, but still takes a bottle at night. She will wake up for it around 3 a.m., and our bedrooms are all upstairs. I had to run downstairs, get the bottle out of the refrigerator, and then run back up to give it to her. This really made it hard for me to get back to sleep. I bought the Safety First Warmer/Cooler simply to use to keep her bottles cold right by our bed so that I could just walk the bottle over to her and go right back to sleep. It's my sheer laziness, I know, but it has been so great!! There's a pack inside the cooler part that needs to be frozen during the day, and it keeps two bottles chilled all night long.
The heating feature is great, too, and will help me when our baby is born in November, because I won't have to fool around trying to warm the bottle while the baby is screaming. There are two small containers that need to be filled with water, and when it's time to warm a bottle, you empty one container into the warmer. When a bottle is placed in the warmer, you push a button and wait for the light to go off. It only takes about two minutes, and then you have a bottle that is ready to feed. It's a good idea to shake the bottle so the heat is distributed evenly, and always check it on your wrist just as you would normally. I've tried this, and it always heats to the right temperature, and it is such a timesaver!!!
Cleaning this item is a breeze. Of course you want to unplug it first, but there are no tiny areas that are hard to reach, and the surface is smooth, which makes it easy to wipe down.
I wouldn't say this item is a necessity, but it sure makes life easier!! If you can afford to splurge on an item, this is a great thing to have, especially if you live in a 2-story home.
