Introduction
The Adventures of Indiana Jones is finally here on DVD. Digitally restored frame by frame and given Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, this is the way the movies were meant to be seen. The collection features 4 discs. Each of the films is in widescreen format. The collection contains:
Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade. The 4th disc contains extra features like the sounds, music, stunts, light and magic behind Indiana Jones. There are also 3 behind the scenes featurettes for each film.
Plot Summary
The Raiders of the Lost Ark introduces Indiana Jones as a famous archaeologist searching for the Ark of the Covenant. Little does he know, the Germans are searching for the same thing.
The Temple of Doom finds Indiana Jones recovering lost precious stones from a village in India. The children of the village have been taken by a mysterious cult found at the Temple of Doom. The cult wishes to recover the lost stones so they may take over the earth with its powers. Indiana and his friends must stop them before it’s too late!
The Last Crusade involves Indiana Jones and his father, Sean Connery, looking for the Holy Grail. Once again, the Germans are on their tails in this high magnitude action/adventure story.
Analysis
All three movies are filled with action, great plots, great sound and music, and fantastic stunts and special effects.
The temple of doom is a different story and feels different than the other too. However, it still entertains nonetheless. The 1st and 3rd films are the best in terms of story. Harrison Ford was born to play this role. Spielberg did a fantastic job directing these movies. The action in these three films are unparalleled of any other series. Not only do all three films entertain, they never lose their luster or appeal after all these years. A definite buy if you are a series fan. These are great movies for guys but are also suitable for the whole family. A fantastic 5 out of 5 for this series. The 4th disc just adds the sugar coating on the impressive box set, with in-depth interviews, behind the scenes, and the magic behind Spielberg and the stunts, music, sound, and special effects of Indiana Jones.
