Author's Review
The Texas Instruments TI-1795 SV showed up one day on my desk at work. I'm not sure who it belonged to previously, but it's mine now. I even wrote my name on it with a permanent marker. It's kind of like the way stray cats always make the best pets. You didn't set out to get that grey tabby; she chose you. But now that you've got her, you can't imagine life without her.
Previous to the TI-1795 SV I used a Canon LS-81Z. These calculators are identical in terms of function. They each are battery/solar powered, have memory functions, and feature addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square root, percentage, and a positive/negative function.
The TI is a lot better because it's slightly larger, and has a cool contoured shape that fits very nicely in the palm of your hand. The buttons are a little larger than the Canon's are, and are more rounded, with a slight indent in the center. You can add stuff up at lightning speed without worrying about hitting the wrong digits. If you have big, meaty fingers (and who doesn't?), the Canon is somewhat harder to maneuver.
All in all, if you need a calculator for figuring out your home budget, balancing the checkbook, or adding up your epinions royalties, the TI-1795 SV is your new best friend.
