multiplayer options, short character movies
The Bottom Line:
for those who love the tekken style of fighting, tekken tag brings incredible graphics and a different style of fighting. a must buy for players craving four-player action.

Author's Review
after watching the starting credits/movie for tekken tag, i was thoroughly impressed and knew that i had made a good choice in purchasing this game. if you're expecting a new tekken game with a variety of new features, you'll be disappointed. this game stays true to its predecessors and remains virtually the same in controls, moves, and characters. there are a few new moves and characters, but most of those you have probably seen in the previous tekken games. what really caught my eye were the incredible details of the graphics. the characters are very detailed, as well as the background they fight in front of. although the animation style of the characters remains the same (choppy and robotic) and clothes still look plastic, their faces are smooth and little details (such as the stubble on someone's chin) stand out as a monument to the game's graphic achievement.
this game is exciting when two players are engaged in combat, but what happens when four players get together to duke it out? the ability to play with four people raises the excitability of this game and takes tekken to a new level. instead of waiting for a match to end and then joining in the fun, all your friends can be part of the game with this feature.
the movies for each character were a big disappointment - they were very short and looked like they were just thrown together at the last minute. even with a little understanding of the tekken storyline, one will still wonder and fail to see the meaning behind the movie.
i also have a problem with the multiplayer options of the game. although you can play up to four people in the tag match, the game ends when the first character is defeated. there should have been an option so a single character could continue the game against the two opponents, even after the tag partner is defeated. this cuts the time of gameplay down.
