Olymipcs at home??

by   TheGr8_One ,   Sep 21, 2000

Pros:  Good family game, very addicting, pick up and play game with not much learning

Cons:  Not much skill needed to play. I also think it should have some more events

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

After watching the Olympics at home and getting frustrated seeing some US athletes losing to the other countries I remember saying "Man I can do better than that." The next day I went to the store and purchased Sydney 2000. The moment I got home I started playing and I found it facinating for the first few hours of play. There is no learning to it for the most part, it all depends on how fast you can push the action buttons that determine what medal you win. It's true that you do not need alot of skill to play this game but going your way through the Virtual Gym to get to the Olympics is very addicting. I often found myself not being able to put the controller down while I was in the training process. But after you reach the Olympics the Opening Cerimonies begin and the torch is lit, it is now your turn to be the pride of your country and go after the gold. Though some events are more difficult than others it only takes a little time and patients to get the hang of it.
Then once you get the hang of it and win the gold you can either crank the diffuculty up or beat your family and friends at an olympic event. This game will bring families together and will also get your Aunt Margret who believes video games are the invention of the devil playing with you all.
