Exceptional Value, Good machine
Pros:
Works very well and was an excellent value. Much better than expected.
Cons:
Recipe book is sub-par.
The Bottom Line:
You can pay lots more for a fancy machine, but unless you are a pro and need a complex machine, you won't find a better value!

Author's Review
I've had my 5891 about three weeks. My wife and I were going to consider getting one for Christmas, but when we discovered that Amazon would deliver one for a total price of less than $40, we decided not to wait.
This is bread machine number four for us. Of the machines we've owned, this the easiest to clean and promises to be the best of the four. Our first bread machine was acquired from DAK back in the 1980s. All prior machines were discarded because we could not get repair parts for simple breakdowns (broken paddle, etc.)
We've made about a dozen loaves with it, including both light and heavy breads as well as fruit breads. Most loaves have been 2#. Our favorites so far include a raisin bread and a Russian black bread. The Russian black bread makes a sharp cheddar cheese toast to die for, and the raisin bread makes a wonderful peanut butter and jelly sandwich that doesn't even need the jelly!
We've found the 5891 to be both easy to use and to clean. It does exactly what we wanted a bread machine to do. Note that it moves around a good bit while in the kneading cycle, so locate it where it can't "walk" off the counter.
Discard the cookbook that comes with it and use a generic bread machine recipe book. You'll have more variety, better recipes and better results. Keep notes as you go through the recipe book to document your results and any note any substitutions so you can tell when they yield less than optimum results. Practice, and in no time you will learn how to make a wider variety and higher quality bread than you can buy.
Add a mechanical bread slicer and you may never buy another loaf of bread!
We recommend the 5891 without reservations.
