Author's Review
I discovered this great brand and their music while channel surfing in the early hours of the morning a few months back. What particularly struck my interest was, one, that most of the band was Asian American, and two, that these guys created some really unique sounds. In fact, their songs seem to be creations composed of bits and pieces from many different genres of music including jazz, hip-hop, and pop.
Sterotype A is truly a work of art if not 'artsy' itself. It seems as if there is a track available for whatever mood you are in, from Moonchild's melancholy ballad to Spoon's upbeat tempo. What makes their music sound so especially unique are the sounds from their lead vocalists, Yuka and Miho. In their voices is a discernable accent, which, when combined with the band's wide ranging arsenal of music, makes for a perfect match.
What I love most about the band itself is the fact that they're not too mainstream. It's refreshing to discover music that is unadulterated to the general public, yet is in many ways superior to the top twenty of the day. Ten years from now I will certainly still be listening to this band's array of musical sampling. Discover them for yourself and purchase this album right away!
