Author's Review
Why Tide and Seek as opposed to the handful of other SpongeBob videos that are on the market? I don't know. I guess it was because of Big Pink Loser.
If you are a SpongeBob fan, you will know that Big Pink Loser is the episode where Patrick wants to win a trophy. SpongeBob has a bunch of beautiful, shiny trophies for winning or participation in all kinds of sports and nonsensical events--thus incurring the jealousy of dear Patrick. So, to help him out, SpongeBob helps Patrick get hired at the Krusty Krab in an effort to do something well enough to earn a trophy. There is a montage of areas where Patrick falls short in mopping, delivering food, answering the phone, etc., until finally SpongeBob tries to get Patrick to open a jar.
I can't say if it was the influence from the 2 & 3 year olds or what, but I laughed my head off at this scene. We re-played the removing the lid sequence over and over again.
Anyways, moving on. Tide and Seek also includes the episodes of 'Squirrel Jokes'--which contains really stupid jokes about squirrels but is still funny, 'Bossy Boots'--about Pearl taking over the Krusty Krab, and 'Squidsville"--a whole town filled with Squidwards, who look, act and unfortunately sound like Squidward.
If the young ones in your life get a kick out of the antics of SpongeBob and his friends, Tide and Seek is a great video for them. They can watch their shows without the constant barrage of cereal, toy or game commercials.
So, who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob Squarepants!
