Author's Review
This seemingly cheap knock off of "Mario Kart 64" is better than most think. When you start, you have only 8 racers, and one race. (there are two tracks on "Ass Battle" mode to start.
From this horrid start, I began playing it. The farther I got on Championship mode, the more tracks and racers you get. Even though you have to save these on a memory card, these new additions are a well needed boost in superior gameplay.
For those of you who have only played "Rally Days 1," the only race you have to start, and the "Ass Battle," you'd say that it's nothing more than a Mario Kart ripoff, but you're wrong. Each race has a new plot. Also, South Park's mayor will give you a brief rundown of each race before you start squeelin' you wheels.
Example: "Cow Days": All of the racers have been infected with mad cow disease. The antidote id hidden on the track. The object is to find the antidote and hold on to it for two minutes while it takes effect. Your opponants can steal the antidote from you by hitting you with a weapon or ramming into you. Whoever gets their "mad cow meter" to 0% wins.
Now, I have never seen that on Mario Kart. Have you?
After owning it for a month, I played it about three times, and said what everybody else was saying: "What a cheap ripoff!" Then, the other day, I started playing it again, and in three days, I unlocked the next three races and four new drivers! Thank God there are internet sites that tell you how to unlock certain racers (Some racers can only be obtained by finding the "Gold Cows" hidden on the track).
The game is best played with multiplayer because you can mix and match races with tracks. You can see where the checkpoints would be if you played on the farm, or Big Gay Al's Big Gay Animal Sanctuary. The possibilities are endless.
The sound on this game are excellent! Each caracter has it's own creative set of sayings for these races (Mr. Garrison even talks to Mr. Hat while he/they race)! Even some of the weapons talk (Herpes, Underwear Knomes, and Mexican Staring Frogs).
So, loyal reader, At least rent the game and use a GameShark (if you have one) and unlock everything and try it for yourself. You'll thank me later.
