The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of the TRV-900

Date of Review:  Feb 22, 2002
The Bottom Line: This tiny camcorder is loaded with great features and produces a professional picture. The TRV-900 is an incredible deal for its price.
Review: THE GOOD:

1) Amazing picture! The best picture one can buy for less than $2000. This camcorder easily produces broadcast quality images.

2) Large LCD screen. The best LCD screen I have encountered yet on a SONY 3CCD camcorder...

Showing Its Age

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: Still a great camera, but it's being bettered now. But if it fits your budget, you won't be disappointed.
Review: Don't get me wrong. I love my TRV900 and it has served me well over the past two years. The image quality is fantastic and, now, with a little tinkering with your computer program, you can make it sing. What I love about the TRV900 is its low...

Sony TRV900

Date of Review:  Mar 16, 2000
Review: After hours of searching and prolonged anticipation for a DV camera, i finally purchased a Sony TRV900. This camera is the best camera i have ever bought. It has 3ccd, same technology some news casters use, and 48x Digital zoom. I'm sure everybody...

Afordable 3CCD, Great Quality, Solid price

Date of Review:  Aug 20, 2000
Review: The Sony TRV900 is the most affordable 3CCD DV camcorder in Sony's line. It does not have the supreme quality of it's older siblings such as the VX2000, however it is a solid 3CCD camcorder.

I'm currently shooting a feature length video for...

Sony DCR-TRV900: Pro Picture, Pro Features, Compact Size... Awesome

Date of Review:  Feb 13, 2001
The Bottom Line: This is a 3 ccd camcorder with a gorgeous picture, medium to excellent audio, and compact and intuitive body. See if you can get your hands on one.
Review: I bought this camera almost one and a half years ago. At the time the cost was much higher than it is today. When I first started using this camcorder I was more than impressed. I have owned many cameras before (8mm, Hi8, and Digital8), but I never...

Review: I bought this camera as a graduation present from high school in June of 2000. The camera never ceases to amaze me. There are so many different great options, which reassure me that SONY wont be taking this off the market for a while.

Sony DCR-TRV900 Camcorder -- Beginning to See the Light

Date of Review:  Mar 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: An expensive camera by consumer-level standards, but very high quality and packed with useful features. Another milestone on the road to widespread, affordable, broadcast-quality video movie production.
Review: When Sony gets a product right, they're often content to sit back and leave it alone. Such was the case with their very-popular DCR-VX1000 three-chip MiniDV camcorder, released in 1995 but not updated until the 2000 release of the DCR-VX2000...

Great choice for professionals

Date of Review:  Mar 19, 2001
The Bottom Line: One of the best Digital Pro/Am camcorders on the market.
Review: I purchased the TRV900 about a year ago as a replacement for my beloved
Canon ES5000. The Canon was very easy to use, produced great pictures, and featured a 20X optical zoom, and optical image stabilization. Until the advent of digital, this...

A top-notch camera that gets better with extras

Date of Review:  Aug 29, 2000
Review: The TRV-900 is Sony's top-end "consumer" digital video camera, and as such it does its job remarkably well. My 58 year old mother bought this camera to use as her "grandma-cam" and has taken it to the beach, on a cruise to Alaska, and just about...
