Soldiers of Fortune: Gold Heart Edition

I had never heard of this game..... It's best to say that, For a while, I had Stopped playing Games on my PC... then one day, I pulled out an old favorite... DOOM.

I was one of those people who FIRST started playing DOOM, back in 1995... first semester of College at San Diego State, and as the new kids moved in... They'd pass by my room.. the door open... and they'd hear GunShots... Moaning and Sounds of Agony.... they'd stop to see what it all was.. and yes... They got their First glimpse of DOOM.

That was 1995, and PC Games have a lot more Notoriety Today, than they did back then. MORE people know about what?s' capable.. and I believe all of us can agree that DOOM helped usher in the PC Game Fame of today...

I guess I'll have to save the rest of my Praise for a Review on Doom, Doom II, and the other spin-offs I love....

Not sure where you stand if you've played this game... Not sure what you're thinking if you're Thinking about picking this one up... Stop Thinking and Do it. It's worth your money, and it's More entertainment than you bargained for...

My first Impression was, "Wow, graphics really have come a LONG way, in a SHORT time..." Can't wait to see what's coming down the pipeline..... This game is Phenomenal...

The first thing I did was, Try to Pass the game. I never had so much fun with a game in my life. Prior to Doom, Nothing had really come close to this.... sure, I played Hexxen, and Hexxen II, its predecessor Heretic, and never really got around to Quake. Apparently, it all runs on the same Raven Software....

So since the games I had actually Played prior to SOF, I hope you can understand WHY... I was So blown Away...

On the Story Line, it's great... I don?t' want to Ruin it for you by telling you secrets, and what to expect, just know that you've gotta get through a subway station....Other maps include crawling through the snow... you might get the chills it looks so real...

While playing this game, I feel like I'm part of the action.. literally.... Especially when Playing on Death Match Mode.

For those of you who don't know.. Death Match (DM) is basically playing the game ONLINE, testing your skills against others. I got my first taste of that in College when a Dorm mate down the hall and I decided to "Try it Out". It worked.. and we used to entertain everyone with our one on One Death Matches...

As I said, things have changed... now, people can play against others online, just as easily as we Chat to each other through Yahoo or other Instant Messengers.... Technology is really amazing.

Apparently, this game did so well that they made a sequel. Imagine if you could get a Piece of what these companies must be making, from putting out hit games like SOF....

I want to get to a point in my life financially, where I can really just have ONE Computer, Dedicated to Computer Games, like this one... where I'll spend Plenty of Hours entertaining myself.........

I'm sure that I'll be playing it for Years, and Years to come.. and when I get the opportunity, I'll be picking up Part II, to add to my collection.

What's it Good For?

Ya know, This game is a Great stress Reliever. Had a bad day at the office?? Business going slow?? Parent or relationship Partner stepping on your nerves.. =), feel like Picking up a gun and Shooting somebody??

Perfect outlet for that....

Nobody really gets hurt... and You don't go to jail for emotional strains... Win Win Situation.

This game shows everything too... Shoot someone in the head... the head is gone... blow off a leg, or an arm if you like.... It even let's you empty led into them after they've fallen down....

Talk about Taking out your Anger on someone?? Great way to Waste your Ammunition though.... =) Still fun either way, I mean it's ONLY a game...

Personal Opinion

In my Personal Opinion, your best bet is to Play this game for the Death Matches. I haven?t' mentioned it yet, but... diff players are allowed to Design their own Maps, which can be shared, and played on by all. If you're into Designing Maps... You'll have to ask someone else =)

If you're a Player too, and you're ever playing against someone going by the name of Lt. Jordan #23 , that would be I.... yes, I'm the guy who keeps taking YOU and your Friends OUT!!!

Of course, the great thing about it is, when you die, you get to come back.. re-incarnated for another "shot", at that Guy or Gal who keeps filling YOU full of "Body" Shots....

Great weapons too... very realistic stuff. Each gun does what its "Supposed" to do... if your Aim sucks.. you Will Miss. Also, extra stuff like Grenades..( that you can throw at opponents, into crowds of opponents, where opponents MIGHT step next...ect.. ect..) and C4, which you can Plant, and leave behind you to Blow up in about.. 4 seconds...

I like to use that stuff to set Booby Traps... he he he.. I'm just so sneaky...

On a serious note... pick up Soldier of Fortune, you'll really enjoy yourself... =), try not to spend HOURS playing, although, it'll be difficult NOT to. ? As far as stopping people from Cheating, I was kidding.

There really are no Cons? however.. that?s what people say when they Can?t seem to keep from getting Shot, and Dying so often. They call Cheat, when the truth is that they need to Polish their skills?.. Use the Story Line version for that.. practice your skills before coming to the Death Match?. (multiple player?s mode) ?. And bring your Heart with you? You?re gonna need it? The Violence is pretty detailed, so parents, monitor your kids? Don?t let them be exposed to what they don?t need to see?.
