Reliable Sharp Microwave Oven

We have gone through several Microwaves in our 20 year marriage, and this Sharp Carousel is my very favorite! It has many options, some of them are:

Compu Defrost and Express Defrost:
These features automatically defrost meat, chicken, roasts, etc. by weight. To enter the weight, you just touch the pad for a .5 pound increase per touch. (Touch four times for 2 pounds).

Instant Action Pad:
This lets you heat your favorite foods by touching one pad. The options are Baked Potato, Popcorn, Pizza, Beverage, Fresh Vegetable, Rice, Dinner Plate, Pasta, Muffin, and Soup. It is fairly accurate in it's presetting of how long to cook these foods.

Minute Plus:
Touching this pad automatically starts cooking for one minute. If you touch it twice it will cook for two minutes. No more punching in 1 - 0 - 0 - start. Just one touch is all it takes. Boy am I lazy!

Auto Start:
With this option you can program your oven to begin cooking at a designated time of day. Baked potatoes are a good choice with this option, you wouldn't want to use this with meat or other more perishable foods.

Touch On Function:
You can cook at 100% power by touching this button continuously. This feature is nice for melting cheese, bringing milk to a boil, etc. My recipe book gives this example - say you want to melt cheese on a piece of toast. Continuously touch this button and the timer will count up. When the cheese is melted to your likeness, remove finger and oven will stop. You can also program this for frequently used foods.

Timer, Clock, and Safety Lock
I love the timer and the clock on the oven. I use this clock more than I do the one on the wall. And with little kids around the house, I appreciate the safety lock that is available to keep small children from operating the oven.

Turntable:
A turntable with a large plate are in the bottom of the oven, and this allows the oven to cook the food more evenly. There is a hole in the middle that is not sealed, so spills need to be cleaned up immediately.

Cleaning & Odor Removal:
Cleaning is done easily with a damp cloth. I find splatters all over the sides and top of my oven when we forget to cover the food being cooked. For odor removal, try this: in a two cup or larger glass measuring cup add a grated peel and juice of a lemon and a few cloves. Boil for a few minutes at 100% power. Let it remain in oven till cool. This also makes the house smell good! :)

This microwave comes with a one year warranty. We have had ours for a few years now and have had no problems. I really love this oven!
