Just what I wanted!

Pros: Great color. Screen size is dramatic and great for all sports.

Cons: Unfounded fear of banding and pixel mutiny. None so far (one week later).

After searching for a large screen HDTV, I narrowed to plasma or lcd. I ruled out plasma due to window reflection. LCD's were narrowed further due to the extreme cost of Sony for the same size screen. I was intimidated by a few reviews which wrote of banding issues in Sharp TVs. Banding? I have no stinking banding. I do have sharp (!) beautiful color. True red, white and blue. Very good black (not as black as my old Sony tube 36 inch). I love the TV, but use my Bose 3.2.1 surround sound. In a word: perfect.
