Once burned but not fooled

The Bottom Line: Research your planed purchases thoroughly, and don't settle for what you consider acceptable, aim a little higher.
When I bought this in May 2008, I though it was good for cleaning white tile floors, however it wasn't powerful enough on the grout. But the floors looked cleaner and it was fast. It didn't have enough power to clean the light mildew in the shower and it was slow, but did a fair job on the bathroom fixtures, and kitchen appliances with repeated efforts. Around Thanksgiving I tried to clean the grout with the special attachment and was sorely disappointed. First of all it took 40 min to an hour to clean a small portion of grout a (6'x 8')section of tile on my family room and then died. I checked the water levels, circuit breaker, and various outlets to no avail. I called customer service and they advised that I must submit sales slip (which I couldn't find) for repair as it was under warranty. It would cost about $38 to return and additional amount to repair. A good friend who is a College Electronics teacher, suspected something shorted and would take a took a look at it, although he couldn't even open it as it required a special tool which he tried to obtain from several sources. It was my decision to look further for a more suitable product than to throw good money after bad. Today I am looking for a more suitable steam cleaner with more heat at the nozzle and better pressure (psi) for cleaning.
