Sauza Tres Generaciones Aejo Tequila

Product Review

One of the best sipping anejos

by   aguapologist ,   Aug 7, 2007

Pros:  Smooth, complex, great for sipping.

Cons:  Too good for margaritas.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I have spent a good amount of time in Mexico, off the beaten path, and so far this is my favorite anejo tequila. For a more versatile tequila (because I won't put anejo in a margarita), I drink Herradura Reposado (which seems to be the favorite of most Mexicans I know). But to me the Tres Generaciones Anejo is the best, smoothest, sipping tequila. I don't like the Herradura Anejo as much (it's not as smooth). It's the closest to a complex cognac, and it goes well in a snifter. It can be found for less than $40 in most duty free shops, and probably in the mid-40s in the US.
