If I had known...

This camera works (worked...) great for home video recording etc. When I first got it, everyone who saw the videos on the LCD screen were very impressed with the image quality. The zoom, stabeliser function etc are all handy features...however there is one BIG problem that I had with this camera that I have found many others have had as well...after varied periods of time (it took about 2 months for me - for others it takes only 2 weeks) the LCD screen goes white and does not function. Some have said that it was because the LCD ribbon inside the camera has cracked at the pivot point of the screen. The viewfinder still works, but it is small and only black and white. :(
I am NOT impressed with that. For me, it takes away 75% of the camera usefulness not to be able to look at the LCD screen.
