My Rowenta Iron DZ5080 was overpriced and low quality

I purchased the Rowenta DZ5080 at Kohl's Store for my wife. She wanted a good quality Iron that would last. After a few months the Iron leaked water from the base.Rowenta made us sent it to a service center. After 2 months and numerous phone calls we finally received it back from the Rowenta. The insulation on the cord was cut and there was about 1 inch of bare copper wire exposed (Very Serious Safety issue). Back to the factory for another month. After 14 months the Iron quit heating and smelled of an electrical short. We called Rowenta and they informed us the Iron was out of warranty. Numerous calls to supervisors did not help. Meanwhile the cheap iron we purchased at Wal-Mart, while we were waiting for this Iron to be repaired, is still working. I expected a quality Iron for the price I paid and the Iron I received was junk. Rowenta customer service does not exist. If you purchase one, hope you get a good one. My advise - purchase a cheap Iron at Wal-mart. Doug Keirn
