Great Design, Poor Execution

This is a beautifully simple clock with a host of nice features that worked well for about 6 months. Some things I love about it are the dual alarms with Graduwake (alarm starts out soft and grows louder---so nice!) and the auto dimming clock. I like my bedroom to be as dark as possible while sleeping and a bright clock ruins that. The auto dim feature was GREAT because you can read the clock in the middle of the day but it dims way down at night. However, the auto-dim sensor broke after 6 months. Also, the blue LEDs look nice but I found that they are actually MUCH harder to read at night than red or green, even at full brightness (due to glare).

Finally, after about 9 months, the alarm buttons broke inside. Meaning if I pushed them, nothing happened and I couldn't turn the alarms on or off. Totally useless so I sent it for a warranty claim.

This clock is made by Thompson, Inc. which RCA seems to subcontract to. It's a cheap piece of junk that looks pretty and works well for a little while. In many respects it's a good deal for $20 but beware you may have to buy another one in under a year.
