Problems overwhelm positives for this Polaroid

Date of Review: Jan 1, 2007

The Bottom Line:  I returned ours and I noticed they pulled the sales at the store. Not even fool proof for beginners.
Where do I start on the reasons I didn't like the camera:
- Pictures were underexposed without flash
- Pictures were overexposed with flash, some were really overexposed as in washed out completely white faces
- Even in a moderately lit room, it is difficult to frame the picture in the LCD because it shows up so dark
- No viewfinder means this is not an alternative, even though you know the flash will brighten up the picture you can't frame in the LCD
- Any background object will be out of focus unless it is directly behind the subject
- Subject is sometimes out of focus when the camera is still, always fuzzy when there is any significant movement
- The LCD panel darkens for 3 seconds between taking the picture and displaying the shot, 3 frustrating seconds till you know if it worked instead of taking another shot
- Out of 100 pictures, nearly all had some flaws due to the above problems and most were not worth printing
- You can miss shots due to slow shutter speed

Positives include low price and large LCD panel along with a easily recognizable color (comes in off pink or black). This camera uses standard SD card and AAA batteries. It comes with 3 AAA batteries; however I'd highly recommend buying rechargeable AAA batteries because any digital camera will deplete the batteries within a couple hundred shots. It is very slim and easily fits into a pocket; however no protruding lens means 1x power only. Perhaps I should have expected lower quality with the low price; however it is a name brand camera that should have been able to take decent pictures. Even the best pictures had color distortion. Would have been a good camera for my daughter if it worked right, instead we traded up for a much better camera. It is difficult to find any camera without some of these flaws in the less than hundred dollar range.
