Plantronics MX150 Headset

I'm very picky about headsets and have found this to be as good as any I've ever used. It is extremely compact and comfortable in the ear, nice and loud and with a quality microphone. It has no volume slider or mute button, which, if you don't absolutely need these things, is actually a PLUS for sound quality, because introducing volume controls causes signal loss and reduces the loudness. This one is loud and clear and quite good.

I'd like to see Plantronics introduce a version with a longer boom mic, but regardless, this is a fine unit for traveling, to keep in the car, or stuff in a briefcase.

This unit uses an unusual rubber "foot" which hooks under the ear as opposed to a loop which goes over it. It looks odd but it really works quite nicely, and saves a lot of space and gives you one less piece to break off or lose. It also switches instantly from ear to ear without having to remove or swivel around the ear-loop. It's also very low profile, so if you're concerned about your headset being too conspicuous, this can be a bonus.

I highly recommend this unit for anyone who cares about sound quality and needs a compact size.
