Reserves screams, Tall, Dark and Handsome!
Date of Review: Oct 28, 2002
The Bottom Line: I enjoy the, "you smell good" compliments I get when wearing Reserve.
Reserve for men by Perry Ellis 1 oz men's cologne is one of those purchases you make when you want to grab something quick, easy and sleek. Since I have a fairly extensive collection of men's fragrances, adding Reserve to my assortment of colognes was not an expensive of problematical purchasing choice.
In hopes of not sounding like, Johnny come lately, I did not add Reserve to my cologne collection until 2000 despite the fact that it was originally created and introduced by Perry Ellis 1997. Not only did the late hip, stylish designer Perry Ellis make fashionable clothing but the heady scent, Reserve has reached its five-year mark in the competitive cologne industry. Who would have imagined a man that began his career in department store retailing would make a world-renowned fragrance?
From the year 2000 to present, the quick, easy and sleek purchased has benefited me well, especially when I'm in a hurry. Mornings are the toughest times of the day for me. I have to make important decision, such as how I will dress, how I will look and how I will smell. Except for spraying on my cologne, most of the other stuff I do to look and smell good requires a lot of effort.
Compared with cranking out those 20 morning sit-ups, spraying one of my favorite colognes is easy. This wakeup fragrance is ideal for my hectic mornings with its breezy grapefruit, lavender, juniper smell, accented with the right amount of carnation, oakmoss and amber making it perfect a formal or casual day. Like many of the fragrances on the market today, Perry Ellis delivers a natural, fresh and clean scent.
There are some that prefer to wear this fragrance during the evening probably because of its unique blend of floral and an herb which creates that warm fuzzy low note hidden feel of amber, musk and wood. But for me, splashing on a little fuzziness if the ultimate especially when I don't want to jump out of my cuddly restful floral scented sheets.
Reserve's easy tubular 1 ounce bottle is convenient and easy to use offering the ideal low maintenance way for me to get out the door smelling great. I like the fact that this cool clean masculine floral scent has a warm base to it, demanding that extra kiss and hug I get from my wife before taking off for the day. Plus the chic tubular spray bottle with the ball on the top looks classy in my cologne tray.
The dark packaging of Reserve hides the clean, fresh scent inside, adding that mysterious quality to this cologne. The shadowy packaging is distinctive, and eye-catching much like the bottle sending out the right mood, and ambience. Reserve's tall, clear rounded glass topped off with matte black bottle is the same signature bottle style used for Perry Ellis 360? fragrance, which launched in 1993. This slender glass clear bottle screams, "tall dark and handsome!"
Reserve's scent continues to be the "in" smell with its citrus aroma making it idyllic smell for men who like the outdoors. In my opinion this is more of a summer fragrance however, I still wear it during the fall as I beg "old man" winter to give me a few more sunny days. The main reason I classify this as a summer scent is based upon its wearability and duration. It usually last on me for about 12 hours, and smells best after its settled on the skin for a few moments. Personally, I enjoy the, "you smell good" compliments I get from my clients, coworkers and spouse, the remarks put a little extra pep in my step.
Reserve has not stained any of my clothing and the scent does not linger after the clothing worn with the fragrance on my body has been laundered. I have had no allergic reactions with the fragrance blending well with my natural smell.
