Papermate 70609: Altitude Retractable Ballpoint Pen

There's not a pen in the house with ink. So, I run to the local store, not realizing this would be an adventure. There are such a variety of pens, I could go into mental over load. I finally recognized a name I grew up with, Papermate, the Queen of pens during my day. She cost a little more, but she'd glide upon the paper like a Queen over a ballroom floor. Well, not anymore. I purchased the PAPERMATE EAGLE, to my surprise in a package of ten. I now know this should have been a warning. My dear PAPERMATE of long ago was much like me, it had a false start, then a stutter, I shook it, I don't know why, but it worked. Shortly thereafter, the Eagle faltered. Now I think, dud and got another. The PAPERMATE EAGLE did not fly. Who did this to the Queen of pens and why? I was so excited to purchase for the second time in my life a brand new PAPERMATE. By the forth attempt, I understood why there were ten pens in the package. The only flying this Eagle will do, is across the room and into the trash bin. It was worth paying a little more for a good PAPERMATE, now you've blown it.
