Author's Review
If you want the best 1080P Media card, low priced, 3 ccd camcorder that outperforms Sony, JVC, Hitachi, Cannon in images, then look no further , except in low light. I've used it for 6 months and easily transfer to blue-ray DVD with the provided software. I have a Panasonic HVX 200, and like the SD5 better, except for professional use. Easy to carry and use. Great for home movies and travel, although you need a tripod despite the OIS (image stabilizer.) The image is spectacular, colours are fantastic. To appreciate it you need a 1080P monitor. The copied disks from the card are precisely what's on the card with no picture degradation. I would like to have had a viewfinder and a port for an ear monitor, but otherwise, I give this camcorder a high 9. I would never use the still function because I carry a Nikon 300 and the megapixels are not sharp enough for me. Most people can't appreciate the difference in colours using a single ccd camera as opposed to a 3 CCD one. But if you look for it, it stands out like a sore thumb. The reds, greens and blues are so much brighter and truer to reality. This is hard to find in small compact, camcorders no matter how much they tout their products and the efficiency of their single, super CCD.
