Very bad experience with 2 different units

The Bottom Line: A DVD recorder that becomes completely unusable due to a DVD it cannot handle is unacceptable. Do not buy one.

A perfect example of where you shouldn't save money

The Bottom Line: Committing the images to memory and retelling the viewing experience will do more justice.
Review: Everyone likes the concept of a DVR. You can record television seamlessly, without the loss of quality associated with a VCR, and there is no rewinding. Likewise, everyone likes a good deal.

A good recorder once you upgrade the firmware

Very Flexible Multi Format Design

The Bottom Line: If you want to replace your old VCR and DVD Player, this is the route to go.
Review: I'm in Canada and the Panasonic Model is DMR-ES20S so I assume it's the same. Bought as a replacement for the VCR AND the old DVD Player, and it was nice to have one less component box than before. Setup was a little tricky when you have a cable box...
