Great technology needs Siemens Gigaset features

This phone has the best transmission quality of any 2.4ghz phone I've tested. The clear transmission and long battery life is awesome!

The Base unit lacks speed-dial buttons and the display "brightness" is poor (requiring direct lighting to see clearly.

The handsets need softkeys in the worst way, it takes while to learn how to use the features of the phone which are many. Features could be a little hard to get used to, but can with enough lost calls.

The voicemail feature works but could use substantial software updates. Very little time was spent fine-tuning the user interface for the Auto Attendant/Voicemail module. Programming the Auto Attendant/Voicemail is more like trying to trick the system (lots of work needed here.)

Hear are a few of the other improvements needed:
Hold Tone or Beep Softkeys for navigating
Transmission of Directories Defaults for Area Code
Page all on the Handset PC Interface for programming
Transfer to Voicemail (needs improvement)

Generally, I have been pleased with the purchase and have decided not to go back to my Siemens 2420 which this unit replaced.
